No CCPA penalty on record — it received a notice in 2023 and challenged the regulator in the Delhi High Court, but we found no order fining it. The concern here is in its own terms: the refund window closes five days after the batch starts, and the published terms describe advertised faculty as tentative and reserve the right to substitute them without notice.
Section 01
The arithmetic
Every criterion starts at 100. Below is each point deducted, the published rule that triggered it, and the document it came from. Nothing here is a judgement call.
Regulatory Standing
Not assessedOrders, penalties and findings recorded against the institute by a regulator.
No public record on file touches this criterion, so we do not score it. This is deliberately not the same as a pass.
Advertising Integrity
Not assessedWhether a regulator has found the institute's advertising to be misleading.
No public record on file touches this criterion, so we do not score it. This is deliberately not the same as a pass.
Disclosure
70/100Whether the institute discloses what its advertised successful candidates actually paid for.
Refund Policy
70/100How the institute's own published refund policy compares to the national standard.
Service Delivery
Not assessedDocumented failures to deliver the teaching students actually paid for.
No public record on file touches this criterion, so we do not score it. This is deliberately not the same as a pass.
Grievance Redressal
Not assessedDocumented conduct when enrolled students raise complaints or ask for refunds.
No public record on file touches this criterion, so we do not score it. This is deliberately not the same as a pass.
Overall score is the mean of the 2 assessed criteria, rounded. Read the full methodology →

The public record
Each document below is linked to its source. This is the entire evidentiary basis for the grade above — there is nothing else behind it.

CCPA notice over UPSC result advertising — no penalty found
NEXT IAS was among the institutes issued a CCPA notice over misleading UPSC result advertising. We searched specifically for a penalty order against NEXT IAS or Made Easy Learnings across 2023 to 2026 and found none. A notice is not a penalty and carries no finding of wrongdoing, so it deducts nothing here — it is recorded for completeness, and to correct the common reporting error of treating a notice as a fine.

Made Easy Learnings challenged the CCPA notices in the Delhi High Court
Made Easy Learnings Pvt Ltd, which operates NEXT IAS, filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the CCPA notices. The writ was disposed of and the matter remitted to the regulator. This is the institute exercising a legal right, not a finding against it, and it deducts nothing.

Published terms: five-day refund window, faculty described as tentative
The published Terms and Conditions allow a refund only within five days of the batch commencing, after which no refund is available, and make the admission fee non-refundable in all circumstances. Separately, the terms describe the names of advertised faculty as tentative and reserve the right to change faculty and venue without prior notice — meaning the teacher a student chose the course for can be replaced with no recourse.

Section 03
Their policy vs the national standard
What NEXT IAS publishes
“The names of faculty mentioned are tentative and the institute reserves the right to change faculty and venue without prior notice.”
The published Terms and Conditions close the refund window five days from batch commencement, make the admission fee non-refundable in all cases, and reserve the right to substitute faculty and change venue without prior notice, describing advertised faculty names as tentative.

What the national standard says
Where a student has paid the fee in full and leaves the course in the middle of the prescribed period, the fee for the remaining period is to be refunded on a pro-rata basis within 10 days — including hostel and mess fees, where those were paid.

These are national guidelines that states are asked to adopt; they are not by themselves a penal statute. The enforceable route for an individual student is the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 — deficiency in service and unfair trade practice — through the National Consumer Helpline and the Consumer Commissions.

What students say
Separate from the evidence above, and separate from the grade. This is where students who actually studied at NEXT IAS describe what they got for their money.
Reviews are the opinions of individual students, published after a moderator checks them. They are not findings of this site or of any regulator, and they have no effect whatsoever on NEXT IAS's grade — that comes only from the documents above.
Reviews are unavailable right now. The grade above is unaffected.
