Coaching Report Card

The refund campaign

Get your coaching fees back.

We are not asking for anyone's resignation and we are not running a boycott. There is exactly one demand here: if an institute took your money and did not deliver the course, it must return the money for the part it did not deliver. Below is the free, official route to making that happen — and the documents you need, generated for you.

₹1.56 crore

already recovered for 600+ coaching students through helpline 1915

What students are telling us

These are not statistics. They are messages.

Every account below was sent to Lucky Cockroach by a student asking for help. They are reproduced as the students wrote them, lightly edited only for length and to strip anything that could identify the writer — no names, no handles, no photographs. We have not independently verified them, and we say so on each one.

  • I am also a student of Vision IAS, history optional batch. They promised me there will be test series, model answers, history optional material of the institute. And the faculty — horrible faculty. They advertised one faculty and teaching is done by some others. I don't even know them. I am from south India, Andhra Pradesh. I can't travel to Delhi and ask them about my refund. Please, I need my money back. I invested ₹45,000 into the course, which is a huge sum for a poor family like me.

  • I've taken admission in Vision IAS for the 24th March batch. In April they made fake promises to me and also said that a personal mentor would be hired, and that pre-foundation classes would be conducted in offline mode — but it was just GS foundation. They've not even provided the study materials. I already paid ₹1.5 lakh. Nothing is completed, nothing is understood by me, and there is no guidance.

  • I was a student of Vision IAS from 2023 to 2024. The time these people take to complete the syllabus, no other institute takes that long. Our course started with geography, and almost 16 months later the course ended with geography too.

  • We emailed them yesterday and they said there will be no refund — that in one week they will fix everything.

  • I am also an online student. I purchased in April and have been troubled since then. Please get my refund done. I live in Rampur, UP.

  • In Vision IAS, faculty members along with IT team members have not received salary for 6 months, and some of those employees are on only 20–30K monthly salary. On resignation the amount is deducted.

  • The management lied about classes and have forfeited ₹55,000, despite me withdrawing my admission within 4 days because of lack of transparency and their constant lies about classes and services. Now they have blocked me on all communication channels. I sent a legal notice too, but they returned it to the courier. I have the copy of the legal notice as well as all the documents.

  • Ojaank IAS · not yet assessed
I took admission in Ojaank IAS a month ago. Neither do their classes run properly, nor is there any teacher to teach. I told them I don't want to study here, please refund me — it has only been one month. They gave one book called Super Book and say that just reading this one book will get you through UPSC. I have called and messaged them many times, they don't respond. They have removed me from all the groups.

  • GS Score · not yet assessed
GS Score coaching did the same as Vision, with two to three batches — Geography Q&A batch, Prelims test series batch and so on. They neither gave refunds to many, nor continued their course.

Enrolled student · July 2026· student's own account, unverified

  • Chanakya IAS / Sunya IAS · not yet assessed
First it was Chanakya IAS, then because of some issues the Sunya IAS people took over, and they told us students that we would not have to pay even one rupee. The students' syllabus was not completed, nor did those people fulfil their promises. They are not giving refunds either.

How to read these

These are individual students' own accounts of their experience. They are not findings of this site, not findings of any regulator, and they have no effect on any institute's grade — that comes only from the documents on the report cards. Institutes named here are welcome to respond and we will publish the response in full.

The route that actually works

Four steps. Start at the top.

Most students go straight to social media, which costs the institute nothing. This sequence costs you nothing either, and it creates a record the institute has to answer.

  1. 01

Send a written demand to the institute

    Today · Free

Before any authority will help you, there must be a written demand on record. Use the notice generated below. Send it by email and by registered post, and keep the postal receipt — that receipt is what proves you asked. Give them 15 days.

Attach your fee receipt, enrolment form, and any WhatsApp or email messages where classes were cancelled or a refund was promised. Screenshots are fine.

  2. 02

File at the National Consumer Helpline — 1915

    7–15 days · Free

This is the step most students skip, and it is the one that works most often. The helpline mediates directly with the company. It is free, available in 17 languages, and has already recovered ₹1.56 crore for more than 600 coaching students.

Call 1915, or file at consumerhelpline.gov.in, or WhatsApp +91-88000-01915. Use the complaint text generated below. Note your docket number — you need it for step 3.

  3. 03

Escalate to the District Consumer Commission

    3–12 months · Small fee

If mediation fails, file a consumer case on e-Jagriti. The District Commission hears claims where the amount paid is up to ₹50 lakh, which covers essentially every coaching fee. You do not need a lawyer to file, and the Commission can order the refund plus compensation.

The e-Daakhil portal was merged into e-Jagriti on 1 January 2025. File where you live or where the institute operates. Attach your notice, the postal receipt, and your helpline docket number.

  4. 04

    Report the advertising to CCPA

    Anytime · Free

If you enrolled because of selection claims that turned out to be misleading, that is a separate wrong. The Central Consumer Protection Authority has penalised institutes repeatedly for exactly this. Your complaint adds to the record even if your own refund is settled.

File through the same National Consumer Helpline channel and state clearly that you are reporting a misleading advertisement under the Guidelines for Prevention of Misleading Advertisement in Coaching Sector, 2024.

Where the legal weight actually comes from

These are national guidelines that states are asked to adopt; they are not by themselves a penal statute. The enforceable route for an individual student is the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 — deficiency in service and unfair trade practice — through the National Consumer Helpline and the Consumer Commissions. In practice this means: quote the Guidelines for Regulation of Coaching Centres, 2024 to show what the standard is, and rely on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 for the remedy. The generated notice below does both.

File your complaint

Tell us what happened. We'll write the letters.

Fill this in once and you get two ready-to-send documents: a formal demand notice to the institute, and the complaint text for the National Consumer Helpline — both with the correct citations already in them. It works for any coaching institute in India, not only the ones graded on this site.
